Has it really only been ten days?! It feels much longer! I'm growing weary of London. I'm ready to continue onward...
Tomorrow is our last day here but it won't be spent in London (you'll have to wait and see where tomorrow takes us!). On Tuesday we'll be taking the train to the city of lights (or love) - Paris!!! I'm actually really excited about going back!
Today was a very quiet day for us. Very out of the ordinary but it is Sunday and Sunday is a day of rest :) we slept in a tad bit - till 8 am!
We headed to the outskirts of the city to visit the famous tennis club Wimbledon! We were a bit disappointed because it was really quite and there were no matches being played. The entire club was being prepared for next year's season. We took the tour and had by far the most
boring guide known to mankind! A real stiff Brit! The security guard had more of a sense of humor than he did :P
We got back to Islington with enough time to grab a quick bite at Chipotle. Yes, they have Chipotle here! Its becoming quite popular. And it was just as good!
We set out to GraceLife London which was a 15 minute walk from our hotel. They are sharing a building with another church so they only have one service at 4 pm. GraceLife meets at the historic Woodbridge Chapel which was built in 1833! The pews, floors, layout, and even the iron work look original. The congregation is small but very warm and welcoming and we got a chance to meet one of the Pastors and his wife. We also met a young married woman by the name of Cindy who is originally from CA and sings in the worship band. Her husband is from New Zealand and they moved to London 7 months ago. We met a few others: Christian, who is quite active in the church and who knows our mutual friend Andre Baranov and another young woman named Sou, who after completing her graduate work will be returning to Singapore. We enjoyed the worship, sermon, and the fellowship. If you ever plan to visit London on a Sunday do stop by to be mutually encouraged :)
The rest of the day will be spent at a cafe before retiring early since we'll have to be at Victoria Station at 8:30am. Which means we'll be battling Monday morning tube traffic - yay! (said in a sarcastic tone)
Goodnight!
